Welcome to 2020! Tastes and Adventures
Welcome to 2020! Let’s start off the year with new food & drinks,
travel to new places, experiences new adventures, meet new people.
With Fresh and New as the motto its only right that exciting adventures and new tastes are soon to come. Looking back at last year there were some great new places discovered – no worries if you haven’t already seen or heard much about them yet, they were worth repeating so keep any eye out!
Our Instagram is always catching and sharing our food & drink choices.
2019 Top experiences to note:
Forsythia – our first stop on a popUP bar hop night, was the best choice we could have made. We had the pleasure of being served by Jennifer (GM) and Thomas – both were knowledgeable, approachable, took great care of us, and gave top suggestions. We got there in time for Happy Hour – the happy hour wine was light and crisp. Sometimes you may hesitate on happy hour wine choice at places, but this was something I’d choose to enjoy at home. But this spot was all about the food – a modern French restaurant. Highlight: the escargot – if you are hesitant on escargot just because it is snails, then you are choosing to miss out on the delicious taste and flavors that escargot is prepared in. I really do encourage others to try. Our other delights were Panisse with Raclette Cheese, the Crab Deviled Eggs, a taste of the homemade bread & butter, then to top it all off was the Macarons. Tamara was unsure about the dessert as she’d previously tried macarons and was not impressed by them, but the choice here was on point – we had blueberry chocolate ones and they turned Tam’s mind around on them. More to come on this place…it’s a must to return to!
Another highlight of the year was the Philadelphia Distilling Tour – this was a family affair, but I can’t keep such a great experience from you all. The history, the information, the tastes, the knowledge and passion that you get from the tour is worth more than the ticket. I had 1 cousin who wasn’t a fan of gin, but had the opportunity to learn about the taste and now understands the flavor. She now keeps Bluecoat Gin in her house (with Fever-Tree tonic on the ready to make you a refreshing Gin and Tonic). Sometimes you enjoy a delicious cocktail and don’t truly understand the craft that goes into such a taste. (There was about to be a tangent…but I think we’ll keep you guessing on my thoughts about the craft of craft cocktails!!) More importantly did you know that Philadelphia Distilling can be thanked for bringing back distilleries to PA for the 1st time since the prohibition?? Well now you know…visit to learn more!! (Seriously go tour the facility or at lease enjoy a cocktail at their gorgeous bar.)
Craft cocktails, wine tastes (ok flights on flights), tasting straight to pints of beer and an endless amount of food to sample are what await us this year. So join us on the adventure (heck popup on us in the moment) or check out the spots after we’ve shared it, or better yet – let us know about a spot to taste or invite us to join us!
